Vehicle Description
1959 Austin-Healey 3000 'BN7' MKI
Three decades ago, in the early years of Marreyt Classic Cars, Austin-Healey’s graced our showroom and workshop as frequent visitors. We immersed ourselves in the restoration and sale of numerous of these charismatic British sports cars.
Yet, the classic car realm brims with an array of captivating treasures. As time passed, our focus meandered towards other automobiles and brands. However we have never lost sight of those sprightly Austin-Healey’s and will never forget where it all started for us.
As the replacement for the 100-6 model the first Austin Healey 3000’s left the factory in 1959. Equipped with a smoother and better performing 3.0L 6-cilinder engine the car accelerated better and had a higher top speed. Higher speeds also call for better braking performance so the 3000 models came with front brake discs as standard.
They say one's first love remains etched in memory, and as we laid eyes upon this resplendent Big Healey ‘BN7’ two seater, that sentiment rang true.
Crafted new in Decembre 1959 this particular Healey gleamed in black over red, accented by wire wheels. Additionally, it boasted the factory overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears, which improves driving comfort.
The spirited growl and formidable torque of the 3-liter six-cylinder engine render this Austin Healey a thrill to behold on the open road. We've already succumbed to its charms, and if the pureness of the early 3000 holds a special place in your heart, then this ‘BN7’ beckons as the epitome of your desires. With just 2825 ever built of the MK1 two-seater, it is a true collector's item.
Today the car finds itself in great shape and clothed in a wonderful orange/Ivory paintjob over a black interior. Equipped with chrome wire wheels and still being ‘matching numbers’ on engine.
The perfect drivers car for the gentleman or -woman that loves the pure open top driving experience.
