The 1990 BMW M3 Evolution III, commonly known as the E30 M3 Sport Evolution or simply "Evo 3," is one of the most celebrated models in BMW's storied M division history. The BMW E30 M3 was initially developed as a homologation special to allow BMW to compete in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) and Group A Touring Car racing. The Sport Evolution (Evo 3) was the final and most advanced version of the E30 M3, produced to ensure continued competitiveness in racing.

The S14 engine in the Evo 3 produces approximately 238 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque at 4750 rpm, making it the most powerful iteration of the E30 M3. It features a 5-speed manual gearbox, known for its precise and direct shift action, complementing the car's sporty character.

The Evo 3 was designed with racing in mind, resulting in several performance-oriented modifications. It featured a revised intake system, improved cooling, and lighter weight components, contributing to its enhanced driving dynamics. The suspension setup was also refined, with adjustable front and rear spoilers, which allowed for fine-tuning to suit different track conditions.

Only 600 units of the M3 Sport Evolution were produced, making it a highly sought-after model among collectors and enthusiasts. Its limited production run and motorsport heritage contribute significantly to its desirability and high market value today.

The E30 M3 Evo 3 is considered a high point in BMW's M division history. It represents the culmination of BMW's efforts to dominate touring car racing in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Evo 3's combination of lightweight construction, advanced aerodynamics, and a powerful engine make it a benchmark for high-performance sports cars of its era.

This example has been in the same ownership since 2005. The car has been regularly serviced and, above all, completely restored with original BMW M parts. Some of this work has been documented. Technically, the car is also in impeccable condition.
