Vehicle Description
THE ORIGIN OF THE SPECIES
This S7 will take you on a journey through Donkervoort’s history to the high-risk bet on innovation that started it all.
Joop Donkervoort imported a Lotus Seven from the UK, and the obstacles put in his way thwarted its homologation in The Netherlands. Instead of giving up in frustration, the difficulties ignited the spark of inspiration that gave birth to the legendary Donkervoort S7 and Donkervoort Automobielen.
Now you can relive that history because Donkervoort S7 (with chassis number seven) has emerged from the Donkervoort Classics Department, and is available for sale.
Stripped down to the ground and meticulously rebuilt and restored to its original glory, this S7 is a masterpiece that embodies the perfection Joop was chasing, and is a testament to the craftsmen who laboured over it.
Those craftsmen intentionally preserved some of the patina as a respectful nod to the car’s storied past, and it stands in concours condition, ready to grace any collection with its presence. Its original 1.6L x-flow engine has also been fully rebuilt and updated, so the S7 is not just a relic of the past, but a thrill to drive even by today's standards.
The car comes with a one-year factory warranty and a Certificate of Authenticity.
INTERIOR
Step inside to discover a world of luxury and craftsmanship. A new black leather interior beckons, while the original Smiths gauges have been restored and reflect a bygone analogue era.
The seats remain fixed and there are no seatbelts, as was normal at the time. The original steering wheel bears witness to the passage of time, a testament to the driving temptation still teased by the S7's driving purity.
TECHNICIANS NOTE
Donkervoort takes pride in its heritage, and we have sympathetically blended modern techniques with a reverence for tradition to create such a timeless classic. With every restoration, we strive for perfection, ensuring each car is a masterpiece worthy of its lineage, its past and its future.
We took a lot of longcuts, not shortcuts, on this project, because everything had to be perfect to pay homage to one of our first cars. We also tried to maintain as many original parts as much as possible.
The Donkervoort S7 is not just a car, but a piece of automotive history waiting to be experienced by discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of the legend – inquire now and make this history a new part of yours.
