• Restored and upgraded at great expense in 2019

The 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback got a popularity boost after it was featured in the 1968 film Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen. In the film, McQueen drove a modified 1968 Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback chasing a Dodge Charger through the streets of San Francisco.

This wonderfully presented 1965 Code ‘C’ Manual Fastback US was originally finished in Springtime yellow and was repainted perfectly in Raven Black in 2019 whilst undergoing a restoration and improvements at a cost of over 20,000 euros. The interior is a light tan Palomino vinyl in fantastic condition with a light patina. The car sits on newer wider all aluminium wheels wearing 225/45/17 tyres which indicate, coupled with its sportier stance the fact this car has been updated to be a drivers Mustang.
The car has had various upgrades to both suspension and chassis. Visible when opening the engine compartment are the adjustable modernised suspension as well as chassis braces both top and bottom.
Regarding the engine, the car features a bored out V8 block, originally 289 ci the engine is now 351ci. Coupled with a 4 body Edelbrock Carburettor and a dry sump. All ignition systems and pumps were reviewed at the time of restoration. The car retains its factory 4 speed manual gearbox.
This very nice example of the Mustang Fastback is not only extremely stylish but also drives so well. Elegant yet somehow quite brutal in appearance, this car exhibits coolness like few others can. Visible at our facilities in the South of France, this car is in practically concours condition, with no rust and having benefitted from a great amount of work from its passionate owner of the time.
