The Knightsbridge:
The “Knightsbridge”, named after the affluent neighbourhood in London, was the last Special Edition of the fabled Classic Mini for the European market. Available in only 3 colours; British Racing Green, Sienna Gold and Black, it is commonly agreed that only 684 examples of this special edition were ever produced, with only 180 cars suited with the sought-after Webasto roof option. The Knightsbridge is based on the Cooper Sport underpinnings and layout, however with the most lavishly equipped interior ever on a Classic Mini. All examples came with a specific (for the Knightsbridge only) Beige, full leather upholstery and Walnut dashboard as well as side fascia above the door cards.
With what can be considered as the highest spec on a Classic Mini, the Knightsbridge has a strong following and is highly sought after. Great examples are few and far between, so we’re delighted to offer this amazing example for sale. For the second time that is!
This Knightsbridge:
Chassis no. "7590" was first registered on the 21st of September 2000 and deliverd by Autohaus Kempen of Cologne, the region where this example would reside its entire life until 2022 when we first acquired it. Specified in sinister and lesser-seen Black with the iconic Beige Knightsbridge-specific leather upholstery and a burr walnut veneer dashboard with side fascia on the door cards. This Knightsbridge has been carefully garaged by its previous custodians and today presents in near mint form throughout. Totally rust-free, with all apertures, seams and weldlines in place throughout the various notorious places a Mini can rust. Today she boasts a warranted 85.000 km's from new and drives superbly, however the overall "look and feel" of the car would suggest half that mileage actually. That's also the reason we sourced her in the first place, as most of the Classic Mini's we offer tend to be lower on mileage but this example was just too good not to take. Classic Mini's just don't come falling from the sky in this condition. Technically she is absolutely sorted, with great synchromeshes and the MPI engine pulling very potently - as per it should! To preserve the Mini against the elements, we have conducted a full Hammerite Waxoyl anti-rust treatment prior to handover to its previous custodian in early 2022 when we first re-homed it. This should preserve it for years to come against rust from the inside-out.
We initially sourced this example in the German Ruhr area and subsequently sold it to a family member in 2022 who lusted after a great Classic Mini for sometime. After scarce use and having moved abroad in the meantime, the Mini is now back with us and looking for a new home where it will hopefully be used a lot more! Accompanied by all original accessories, two sets of keys, booklets, full service history and a dedicated history file with all documents - this Mini stands ready for a new owner. She will be freshly serviced prior to delivery so she needs nothing for a new custodian to enjoy her in the forthcoming Spring and Summer! Currently Dutch registered and will be supplied with a fresh MOT, she can also be delivered with correct Dutch export documents for worldwide registration.
Bite-Size:
A Knightsbridge is our favorite Special Edition and the Webasto roof is a real rare plus. Special Edition Mini's are increasingly difficult to get hold of and this one presents a great opportunity at an interesting price!
