Vehicle Description
The Porsche 911 Type 993, the top of the air-cooled era and the last of its kind, was produced between 1993 and 1998. The 993 was the fourth generation of the Porsche 911. Its front wings were wider and significantly flatter. Its rear wings were also wider and ran in a straighter line to the rear.
The Targa model was launched in 1996, featuring a panoramic glass sliding roof that opened smoothly at the push of a button and retracted behind the rear window. For the first time, this new Targa concept offered open-top driving pleasure without fundamentally changing the classic coupé roofline.
A bit more than 4.500 units of the Porsche 993 Targa were produced between 1996 and 1998. The one we have for sale is a beautiful exemplar that was delivered new to The Netherlands in June 1997 in a very special and rare shade: Aventura Green. This metallic paint is a muted medium green with a subtle touch of blue-gray that exudes sophistication and makes it a standout choice for Porsche enthusiasts.
Purists will also appreciate the manual transmission knowing that the 993 was the first generation of the 911 to have a six-speed manual transmission included as standard.
This Targa 993 spent most of its lifetime in The Netherlands, being cherished and regularly maintained by its owners. It comes with its Certificate of Conformity and complete service book. In 2020, a satellite alarm system was installed as well as a new Blaupunkt autoradio. Since new, the Porsche has driven 123.750 Km, a relatively low mileage for its age. It was last registered in Danemark and is overall in very good condition.
Here is the list of options: 398 Retro ext electrical & heating | 425 Rear wiper | 445 Porsche logo on silver wheel | 982 Soft leather seats. Full list of equipment available on request;
Inside, the black soft leather of the seats is in very good condition and the panoramic roof brings light into the cabin to the driver’s delight.
Given the “last is best” mentality of buying an historic sports car, the Porsche 993 is highly desirable in the used-car market. The rare Targa model is certainly a favourite amongst Porsche lovers, blending timeless design with exhilarating performance. It is the perfect car to enjoy everyday and could be a wise addition to a car collection.
Ready to fall in love? Come to see it in real in our premises located in Zaventem, 5 min away from the Brussels airport.
