Vehicle Description
1977 Volkswagen LT28 motorhome currently located (and registered) in Amsterdam. This would be a great project vehicle for a vintage Volkswagen enthusiast.
Rather than a typical Volkswagen pop-up camper, it is a motorhome style on a Volkswagen LT. I've never found another example of this version of Volkswagen camper. Besides the two cab doors, the living space has a side door entry. There is a dinette across the back that converts into a bed and a cab over sleeping area. There are shelves and wooden cabinets for storage lining the dining area, as well as a separate closet. There is a DC powered refrigerator installed this past June with a capacity of 2.3 cubic feet (65 liters) including the freezer. There is also a manual awning, and a separate room for a standalone toilet with the original sink. The kitchenette contains a gas powered stove with two burners.
It currently only runs on LPG, but it is built to run on either LPG or gas. It has two solar panels that can be connected to a leisure battery with a Victron SmartSolar charge converter. I originally purchased this RV to travel through the area in, and although I love the RV, I unfortunately don't have the background or experience to maintain a vintage vehicle. It requires some maintenance and possibly some restoration due to its age, but it is a very unusual Volkswagen and would be perfect for a Volkswagen enthusiast.
